Psalms 149: 4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation.
Do you ever wonder if you’re pleasing to God or why God takes pleasure in you as a human?
First, from the beginning of time, he created you in His image and His likeness, and God declared everything He had made “was indeed very good”! (Genesis 1:27-31) It is as though God took an assessment of everything He created, including humanity (you and me), and the statement “very good” to me implied God was pleased with what He’d made, which was us. Praise God!! Though man fell from God and marred the image through sin, God sent Jesus to redeem and restore us into a relationship with Father God. If you’ve chosen to make Jesus your Lord and Savior, you can rejoice knowing that you are an image bearer of God through Jesus on this earth, and you have become His beloved child!! God is pleased with you as his child. Zephaniah 3:17 tells us that God rejoices over you with gladness, quietens you with His love, and rejoices over you with singing.
So far, as you can see, this is something God initiated out of His Sovereign will and desire for us; He chose us, and He is more than capable of taking care of us. He is a good Father who provides and has anticipated our every need, present and future, whether spiritual, relational, emotional, financial, or physical. He longs for us to put our trust in Him and expects us to depend on our Father God. The result will be a deep, confident security with a sense of belonging, love, and acceptance that will cause you to live free from the world’s way of meeting your needs and protect you from pitfalls and lures of bondage and snares of man and the devil. This world and the things of the world will never satisfy you as a child of God; God, and only what He supplies through Jesus Christ, will bring fulfilment to you. Taste and see that the Lord is good, for He is the Bread of Life!!
I’m grateful for God’s amazing grace; it is by faith that we can receive His unconditional, unchanging, and irrevocable love. His love transforms us, makes us whole, and causes us to become more like Him each day. Thank God we can depend on His love to sustain us. I encourage you to continue cultivating a personal, intimate relationship with Father God, and it doesn’t matter how distant He seems; remember God is walking with you and will never give up on you!!
A Key Takeaway: Fun Facts: Short study of FATHER: Taken from Helps word study.
3962 patḗr – father; one who imparts life and is committed to it; a progenitor, bringing into being to pass on the potential for likeness.
3962 / patḗr (“father”) is used of our heavenly Father. He imparts life, from physical birth to the gift of eternal life through the second birth (regeneration, being born again). Through ongoing sanctification, the believer increasingly resembles their heavenly Father – i.e., each time they receive faith from Him and obey it, which results in their unique glorification.
3962 /patḗr (“father”) refers to a begetter, originator, progenitor – one in “intimate connection and relationship” (Gesenius).
I pray this blesses you as much as it has blessed me!!
Love & Grace,
